We're back in Paradise Plaza, where I get a surprise: Pamela and Heather have appeared.
The weird thing about Pamela and Heather is that they will appear on the morning of Day Two in Paradise Plaza, but they have no set time. I had no idea they could appear this early. Thus, when I bring Ross out with me to the main thoroughfare, it's without any idea that it's about to get as intense as it does.
I set a waypoint so Tonya and Pamela have somewhere to go--and I lucked out there; Tonya could've just as easily gotten into some real trouble between there and the women's restroom--and recruit Pamela and Heather. Note that while Pamela is almost impossible to miss, the only hint as to Heather's presence is that Pamela is beating on the toy store's window. As a result, it's very easy to completely overlook Heather.
Heather can use a pistol, so I give her one; it usually comes in handy, since when Heather is in play, Pamela is dumber than a bag of hammers. (Conversely, if Heather is not in play, Pamela will stay very close to Frank.) Notice how Pamela listens to me at first, and once I recruit Heather, Pamela starts following Heather around instead. This gets both of them a little bitten.
This crew of survivors and I get back to the security room in plenty of time to trigger the "Professor's Past" cutscene. In point of fact, I have to go back to the warehouse so I get Otis's radio message. I take this opportunity to save, because this next bit... is a little tricky.
