Description: The best popular Welsh song ever written. Composed by two Welsh lads by the names of Peter Ham and Tom Evans of the South Wales band Badfinger. The group was totally ripped off by their management and the song was handed over to Harry Nielsen who made it a world wide hit. The record company refused to credit Ham and Evans for this song and they both subsequently killed themselves due to dire financial hardship. This is yet another version this time by Air Supply, although it makes a change from Nielsen!May the original composers rest in peace, as a Welsh lad myself, this song makes me very proud and very sad at the same time!

Description: First all-female Rock band signed by major label!Fanny wasn't actually the first all-female Rock band signed up by record companies. Women were jamming around the world all through the 60's; the first signed, for a few singles, was Goldie & the Gingerbreads in the mid-60's. and of course there was the Girls, the Ace of Cups, the Luv'd Ones, and She among many more. But they were putting out singles on smaller labels. In 1970, Warner Brothers signed Fanny as the first all-female act to a major label and pushed their LP heavily. Some folks try to argue that 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls' (1970) was a major catalyst for female rockers. A nice thought, but aggravating considering that the real thing was there from '70 to '75. Fanny broke all the barriers first, and got the brunt of it all first as well. In their steps would come Birtha, Isis, Suzi Quatro, the Runaways, and the Punk floodgates. Along the way they made four albums (a fifth has a partial line-up), won over musicians from Little Feat to David Bowie, and made a lot of good music before the toll undid them.Though history has neglected them, the tide is turning. RCKRGRL champions them and Rhino Records has put all four albums with many extras into a box set available through their website.
