Description: A new recording by yours truly is finally up! I know a few of you were just dying to hear more of my performances (sure... :P) Since I had no pieces from the FFX PC X, I had this own memorized over 5 months ago, just trying to perfect it. Sorry for the delay people. You see, I work now! This week, one day I worked 13 hours but its worth it for 10 bucks. LOL. As you may not know it drains alot of my energy. My mom and dad wanted me to get a job so I did! I currently work as an irrigation personal, (sometimes landscaper, which I did last summer)This here is just a personal note left by me.At first I was uneasy of this performance and how it would turn out. Indeed, I was not sure if 'I' would agree with my performance level... All I can say is that it turned out to be a moderately fine performance. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LOW B NOTE IS NOT FIXED. IT NEEDS A NEW STRING. When I was trying to think of a summary I was quite unsure on how much information I could add on here. Basically, I thought my note would be limited. It was not until I started thinking about the 'passion' of a piece. At first I really thought that passion is the skill that is necessary in order to bring the character of the pianist and the performance to life. After a deeper analysis, I being to realize on how much of an illusion passion and emotion can be. I find it somewhat decieving.For evidence I suggest youtube users, and any persons to look at thishttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9R7HS...You might recognize him. He is Mr. Bean. In this particular video I was quite fasinated on how he mimes two distinct classical piano pieces. Of course he is not near a piano... but if he was, and I did not know the person, I would regard him as a very good pianist just because of his energetic limbs and facial movements. These are some of the quotes that I derived from this video:[x]Illusion 'about using the body to create character'[x]Body Language [used to create] intimacy and even elegance[x]May lie simpily in the shadings of the facial expression[x]Doing something quite normal in a funny way.I also thought about transposing this body language into my own pieces, however, I realized that I see it simpily as an 'act' rather than a passionate performance. So I did not want to over do it. In this recording of Besaid Island, there is some body movement and motion in my techique, which I find important. But as you can tell my face is not really in the picture because I begin to think that it is really not important. Before I was wondering whether I should leave my body out and just have the keys in place or keep my body in. Of course some people like to see the body movement of a player so I decided to leave it in anyways, just like my other videos. I am sure that body movement can be very helpful at improving any performance, especially after seeing and hearing my other recordings of Besaid Island. But sometimes it causes a distraction espeically over dramatizing movement.In addition to this note, a recording can be very deceiving. For example, I have to say that I place my best recordings on youtube, however, they are not necessarily the performance level that I can play at everytime I am at the piano. I must make note that there are certain things that I understand to help improve my performance which some also suggest. But it is really difficult to make what is said in words into the played 'image' of the piece. I'm sure many others have this same problem. And alot of this have to do with practice, practice, practice, rather than the lack of talent, espeically on youtube videos. Do not be alarmed about this, I see this more as a personal analysis of my own agenda. I still want truthful opinions of the pieces I put up and things that I can improve whether I can do it, comprehend it or not. Anyhow thanks for reading and listening to my pieces.
