The people that you see performing this work earn next to nothing in pay. Many live as far as three miles away and walk each day to and from work. The art is beautiful. They are very poor. Burma offers little in the way of opportunity for most as a result of the illegitimate military ruling junta and their economic policies of governance.

Description: www.worldviewz.net While in Kauai I was blessed to have permission to film at Kauai's Hindu Monastery. www.himalayanacademy.comA traditional Saivite Hindu monastery-temple complex on Hawaii's Garden Island, dedicated to the Divine within everyone and all things. The temple being built is magnificent and I certainly felt the beauty and the potency of this place. The Iraivan Temple is being built by hand; by master stone masons. I was informed that the stones are all hand carved in order to maintain the song of the stone. You see, the stone has a song and if pneumatic tools or blasting to remove the stone are used then the song of the stone is damaged. This is among the highest forms of art that I have been present for and witness to - a beautiful and inspiring space. As a mosaicist, my hat is off to these men performing this amazing high form of art. Blessings. Namaste.
