I am gradually sorting through some of my ancient video tapes to log what is on them, and capturing some vintage clips whilst I do so. These are the last couple of minutes of the 1983 feature-length 'Last of the Summer Wine' episode "Getting Sam Home", recorded on it's original broadcast on December 27th 1983. The plot involved hapless trio Compo, Clegg and Foggy trying to get deceased friend Sam home without his wife finding out where he has been! It was the last appearance of Sid in the cafe - actor John Comer was ill and his voice had to be dubbed over, and he passed away soon afterwards. I am still going through all of my old tapes and uploading various clips, so check back regularly!The special has seldom been repeated, and had a limited VHS release, limited mostly to librarys and rentals. Sadly I only have the last few minutes of the episode, but thought I'd upload a bit for fellow Summer Wine fans (yes, it used to be good once!). If nothing else, it has a good run of the theme tune at the end.
