Linkin Park [Projekt Revolution] in Sacramento - Faint
I loved the idea of Projekt Revolution. An all day music festival featuring known and not-so-known bands...slowly building up energy throughout the day to culminate with performances by My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park. Unfortunately I hadn't planned on the brutal heat in Marysville, California, where the temperature had to easily top 100 degrees. Although it was almost too hot to watch any of the openers, the sun eventually went down and the temperature dropped as My Chemical Romance played their set. Just when the temperature became tolerable, Linkin Park hit the stage. Mike Shinoda, Chester Bennington, Joe Hahn, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, and Phoenix cranked up the energy, playing a blistering set...sending the temperature in the venue soaring once again. They closed their set (pre-encore) with the ironically placed "Faint"...since that's how it left the audience feeling. Simply phenomenal. To complete the "you are there" effect, I managed to find the biggest tool in the place, and put him directly in front of me. He was instructed to try and block my view to the best of his abilities...by flailing his flabby arms about and bouncing his large melon-sized head into my view as much as possible. As you can see...he did a pretty good job...it really adds to the experience. Because face it...we've all been at a great show...trapped behind "that guy". This time I guess it was my turn.Filmed at Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Marysville, California - 27 July 2007.
