Most dictionary and encyclopedia definitions are out of date now.1. No remote location or training camp is required now. Some destructive groups now operate within society and have evolved such that only a short physical distance from home is required to complete the indoctrination. Some can even complete the process within your own home. The UK was in disbelief when it produced its own homegrown suicide bombers. A stack of evidence indicates they were each absolutely convinced they were doing was the will of the one and only true god.2. 'Cults' do NOT require an individual leader or personality, that is a thing of the past. A collective or a non-geographic internal governing committee can be used in place of a single visible leader. 3. The desire to become like a central, personality leader figure or guru is not required. A desire to become a collective personality model, which is typified by a movement is often enough.4. Not always required for the member to confess or provide secrets about himself, but this may happen anyway. 5. Diet and sleep deprivation not always required, that is if other parts of the process are potent enough.The destructive cult is a part of human progress, just like evolving viruses are part of the adaptive bodily immune system. Terrorism will never be solved by conventional military action, no more than firing a pistol at an ants nest ever eliminate it.In the meantime, if you are ever asked: "Do you think I am brainwashed?" DONT judge, you cannot honestly say "Yes" OR "No"But if a loved one insists, to be fair you can only split your answer, since you are simultaneously replying to more than one personality within your loved one, not one.
