Kirsty has spent her entire life connected to a 20kg oxygen tank through tubes in her nose to keep her alive. Sadly in february 1999 doctors told her parents thier was no more they could do for her and gave her just SIX WEEKS TO LIVE. (kirsty was just 3 years old.) So her parents took her to a place called francis house childrens hospice. Francis house is not somewhere children go 2 die it helps terminally-ill children and thier familes pack as much into the little they have together as they can. the children are not expected to live past the age of 18 but francis house has hundres of fun activites and outings for the children as well as specialsit care for them and thier families, all free of charge.But the service doesent come cheap it cost £1.7 million a year to keep francis house open and the satff have to raise that moeny all themselves.In 1999 they organised a campaign to raise £5million to gurantee francis house a future. (bcoz they get no goverment funding) and it was little Kirsty who had just weeks to live who decided she was going to raise all that money to help the other poorly children before she died. she was just 4 years old.Kirsty is now 12 years old it really is a miracle she is still here today she has pushed herself to survive to raise money for other sick children she goes through more pain evryday than most of us do in a lifetime. In October 2006 after 7 years of tireless fundrasing she hit the £ 5million target.But she didn't stop thier she is now leading a new campiagn to raise and extra £2million to help francis house even more.Xmas is coming up evryone its the season of good will,and just look at how much this little girl has to go through but how much she still gives She is dying but she has devoted her life to helping others.please help her by visitingwww.thekirstyclub.com and donating to her campaign.
