Karen Barbee Adkisson of Karavan Middle Eastern Dance speaks at Lady Fest in San Antonio Texas on the history/art of Belly Dance. Karen is a master instructor of Belly Dance and teaches over 150 students. She gives a dance demonstration of a drum piece. Most drum solos are short in length, 2-3 minutes and show off small but fast movements of the torso. This piece features hip drops and thrusts alternating with shimmies (shakes).
