A carriage-load of people survive an apocalyptic meteor strike when their train enters a tunnel at the moment of impact. Government employee Harriet Ambrose, one of the few aware of the meteor's impending strike, is racing to be with her boyfriend Jonathan Geddes at ARK, a top-secret government survival facility. When the freezing agent she carries is released all those in the carriage enter a state of cryogenic suspension, emerging years later to face the challenges of a devastated world.If you can get past the very silly magic dust set-up then this six part series is quite entertaining. The characters are rather cardboard and the middle section is pure padding but it's well mounted and directed with a few surprises and makes a change from coppers, doctors and soaps.I've one question, though, why was Hilds running from the group of hunters?BTW: I collect rare films & TV.
