Second Episode of the Syrian Serie: Salah Al Din.Fulk V of Anjou, defeated, escapes to the nearby fort Barin. The count of Tripoli is captured by Zenki.The king of Jerusalem calls for aid from the other Crusader kingdoms.Meanwhil;e the count of tripoli in his captivity met the servant of Zenki who is a frank raised by the saracens. He manipulates him and tries to persuade him to kill Zengi. The servant is confused, but seems to consider it after being promised fame and glory by the count.Zengi lays siege to Barin forteress.Menawhile in Damascus, Prince Shihab ad-Din Mahmud's advisor sends the army to attack the crusader Kingdoms now empty of soldiers, since most were sent to Barin.Zumurrud, the prince's mother orders the advisor to go lead the army himself. Zumurrud hates the advisor because he became the vizier after killing the ex-vizier Yusuf. Shihab ad-Din suspects the Yusuf and his mother were in a love relationship.At Barin the population starts to starve and their will starts to crumble. King Fulk, who was determined not to surrender, upon walking in the streets of the fortress witnesses his people suffering and decides to surrender. He sends an envoy to Zenki to discuss the conditions.In a memorable conversation, the envoy asks Zenki of his demands.He says: "We demand justice, nothing more.We demand our lands. All of our lands.We demand Jerusalem, Ramlah, Acre, Yaffah, Beriout, Tripoli and Antioch.Can your king give us all of these in exchange for his life?"wehn teh envoy said it was impossible, Zengi continued:"True your king can't. But we can!It is only a matter of time. Mark my words. It is only a matter of time!A Saracen messager informs Zenki of incoming crusader reinforcements. King Fulk however was unaware of this, and decides to surrender if he pays a large sum of gold.He leaves Barin with his forces.To much of Fulk's surprise, he met the reinforcements who were half a day close to Barin. The Crusdaers decide to go back to their kingdoms.Zengi is hailed as a victor by teh saracens and is welcomed in Barin with cheers.Meanwhile the prince of Damascus lures his vizier in a trap, secretly being directed by his vengeful mother.
