The swordsman wearing dark is Moriji Mochida　10-dan（ 持田盛二 10段 ） the master of Kendo. The lighter try to hit Moriji again and again, but they are reflected. When Rurouni Kenshin(Samurai X) was on aired(1994-1999 cartoon)(1996-1998 TV), Kendo was on the rampage again. The scean of this short film reminds me of the Kenshin's beginning episode about Raijyuta Hisurugi.(comic vol.5) I think that it's rare episode.Because Kenshin rarely uses a shinai(the sword made of bamboo). But the battle against Raijyuta,once Kenshin has taken a shinai and show the swordplay.And it also refresh me of the scene that Kaoru and Yahiko are on a training at Kamiya-ashram everyday.Moriji was born in Meiji era, and got 10-dan.10-dan is outstanding level of Kendo.It starts on 6-kyu,5-kyu,4-kyu,3-kyu,2-kyu,1-kyu,and at last,1-dan 2-dan 3-dan 4-dan 5-dan 6-dan 7-dan 8-dan.... Swordsmen need to take a examination of Kendo Federation for getting a qualification of 8-dan. Even the probability of passing 8-dan is at most 1％ of admissionner.So there are only 400 people to get even 8-dan from 1945 to now.
