"Mary Lee Forever" (1984) (Mary Lee Spitzer, Giff Spit
Note from Wayne:This is some Super 8mm film I took of my mother, Mary Lee Spitzer, and my father, Gifford (Giff) Spitzer, in Seattle, Washington, circa 1982. It is here because it occurs to me it may be the only moving footage of Mary Lee in existence and I don't know where else to put it. The idea is to make her searchable. The idea is to make this little bit of her available for anyone who's looking. There's not much of her here (this was before the video revolution), but there is some, and that's a small, good thing, like Carver's bread, made possible only because of the Internet, and because a kid who wanted to make horrorshows happened to own a movie camera, and to point it her way on that final trip to Seattle.Mary Lee had seven children of which I am the youngest: Michael (Mike) Waterbly, David Waterbly, Shane / Forest "Frosty" Waterbly, John (Johnny) Waterbly, Shawn Spitzer, Kim Spitzer, and myself. Her first husband's name was Larry Waterbly and her second husband's name was Gifford (Giff) Spitzer, my wonderful father. I felt it important to say that and to string those words together because it's important that anyone typing her name into a search engine GET something -- anything -- so long as it is not what I've been getting, which has been nothing, not so much as an obituary ... as though she never existed.Well here's a little proof, along with all her children and grandchildren, to the contrary.Let's roll ...."Mary Lee Spitzer"1928 - 1984"We are governed more than we know."-- John MuirFor more about Mary Lee, visit:http://theboythattimeforgot.blogspot....
