After not seeing each other for nine months, soldier Jeremiah Howe surprised his son Tyler Howe when he walked into his fifth grade classroom at Christiancy Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Howe, a marine, had been in Iraq on a recent deployment and returned April 29. With about 20 minutes left in the school day, Mr. Howe, his wife Kari and ex-wife, Tyler's mom Theresa Pullen surprised Tyler and the rest of Mr. Cooke's class. Tyler, 10, and Mr. Howe had stayed in touch while the elder Howe was in Iraq via email and video web chats when possible, but Mr. Howe said it paled in comparison to being able to hug his son.
