The city is clean and modern. Most turkish families lived in Europe before returning to Turkey. What happened? The desperate situation of street animals in this city has shocked the Turkish media sector. Daily dogs and cats appear tortured by unknown people and taken to hospitals by animal lovers. In most of those cases the doctors have had to practice euthanasia on the animal to spare him unnecesary suffering. " We are here to sterilize street dogs in order to reduce the stray population, but lately we are swamped with animals that come to us tortured in the most unbelieveble ways so we are not able to perform our job any longer. The clinic is full of those poor dogs and cats. The Turkish government is obliged, by law to find those people and apply sanctions, people in the neighbourhood should protect animals instead of allowing this to happen.A well known psychiatrist commented briefly on the situation in Denizli, " Today is animals, tomorrow human beings.
