Bored at the house, we decided to go snowshoeing not too far from metro Denver. We piled in the car with our gear and west headed to Lake Edith Rd, about 45 minutes from home. Direction:Get off Interstate 70 at Exit 240 (Idaho Springs and Mt. Evans) and drive south on Colorado Highway 103. At the first switchback, about 6.5 miles from Interstate 70 turn right onto unpaved West Chicago Creek Rd and continue about 2.5 miles. The winter route begins at the end of the plowed section. We walked about 2 hours but we did not go very far since we started too late in the day. Nonetheless, it was a lot of fun... Alissa & Eric T.
