Crystal is a teenage girl 16 that lives in the city with her father Roy. 4 years ago Crystal's mother loses her battle with cancer leaving the two of them alone and very fragile. After 4 years the father Roy decides it's time to move on and brings a woman home he has just met and is interested in getting to know. Crystal is enraged by this and in a fit of anger toward her father runs away from home.Crystal is a good girl with a lot of friends she's smart, attractive, kind but she is also lonely and naïve. She wants to love and be loved and have fun. She drinks mildly and occasionally smokes marijuana. She hides out at a friend apt named Bobby he too is 16 and has his own place because he is a new member of a Crystal meth gang. Bobby is a nice boy, he's smart, timid and kind. He has a crush on Crystal but is only seen as a friend in her eyes. One night one of the main members of the meth gang comes over to talk business to Bobby, this man's name is Rollo. Rollo is 30 years old and a career criminal. He is violent and hostile, manipulative and mean, when he encounters Crystal he sees purity in her, innocence and life, he looks at Crystal as his redemption for all the evil things he has done in his life and Crystal admires Rollo for his strength and power, he is handsome and fearsome she looks upon him as a father figure.Rollo asks Crystal to come live with him and she says yes. At first their relationship is passionate, happy, loving and fun but when Crystal learns that her father is looking for her and also the he is dying of an inoperable brain tumor she wants to go back home to him.
