Another poem. ^_^This one is about global warming, a subject I have never before touched.I think it turned out well enough."A Theory"In the morning as I wakeTo a pitch black skyThe air is thin and sharpBitterly coldEnveloping my sensesBlinding my ability to feelAnd as I pass by the treesThey wave at me,Eyeing my bundling layersIn envyAs they shiver in confusionAnd the day comesAnd suddenly the airIs thick and stickyHeat weaving inWinding outOf every creviceIn my bodyAnd I pass by the treesAnd they shiver in confusionAs I shed my layersAnd their leaves turn crisp and darkThis change often comesFrom season to seasonBut suddenly the seasons become hoursAnd the trees bow in confusionWhere has the table turned to?At an angle whereThe air is thick with theFlames that burn miles awayThe forums are spilling over with guiltAs these waves overtake homesOvertake lands and bedroomsOvertake lives and familiesLife immersed so suddenlyIn the tears of the earthAnd you say change must comeAs the table overturnsMother Nature is topsy turvyAnd yet, you, the one who can makeThe slightest differenceYou sit back and let it comeThe facts are sitting before you"a theory" you say"a theory" is all it isThat explains whyHomes lie in ruinsWhy a child lies aloneIn the rubble that might have beenHer childhoodWhy our legaciesAre being swallowed wholeBy these mysterious flamesOur earth is crying outAnd the thing that makes senseIs a theory?Water splitting through the seamsAnd wind is swirling and blowing awayOur livesAs I pass byBecause the tables have turnedBut we don't know which wayAnd the earth's innards are shakingShaking us offFar, far awayBut it hasn't reached you yetSo you sit back"A theory," you conclude. In the morning as I wakeTo a pitch black skyThe air is thin and sharpBitterly coldIn the morning as my children wakeMy sons and daughtersPass by the placesWhere trees once stoodPass by the placesI once called my homePass by the riversThat we once set our feet inPass by the burrowsWhere we pointed excitedlyAt the animals that once lived therePass by the landsWhere once we walkedSnapped memories on our camerasBut I am dead and goneAnd what have I left?A message few will hearAnd yet are you yet grave? Is my "theory" yet the truth?Alas, it is too lateThe sky is pitch blackAnd Mother NatureBows in confusionFor was it notOur "theory"That could have saved her life?
