Scenario-Pinned Face First-Fighting Concepts-Self Defense EJ
Scenario-Pinned Face First-Fighting Concepts-Self DefenseThis is one of the worst case scenarios; being pinned, face down with your assailant on top of you. You are unable to see or anticipate what you attacker might do and your defense option are limited. It is possible however, to escape this situation. It needs to be noted that there are so many variables to this situation that only you, at that time can make your decision and choices. Proper training will not only give you a greater arsenal of options to draw upon, but will also prepare you mentally and physically so your reaction will be the right one. This is a situation where I would advocate compliance, at least temporarily. The first priority for most assailants is submission. With fear and adrenaline pumping through you, you will probably be stronger than you think. Still, if your struggling isn't getting you anywhere and is perhaps making your attacker even more aggressive, submitting may give you the opportunity to gain control of the situation. Offer your compliance, but use the energy of your fear to focus your razor sharp attention on what is happening, watching for the moment when you can deliver a devastating eye strike or groin shot and make your escape.Key Points: - Screaming is not an option - perhaps you are now at a location where your screams would not be heard. - You have tried to free yourself but could not, at the time - Compliance may be the only option- Acting to be scared and willing to comply - Wait for your opportunity to strike hard, fast and furiously to your attackers eyes and continue until he has released his holds to protect his eyes - Full commitment and full force must be applied
