5:00 AM Multiple Vehicle Accident on I-4 Between Lakeland Florida and Haines City Florida. At Least 20 Semi-Tractor Trailers up to 100 Total. At least 3 people killed so far and the count is expected to go higher. People are still trapped in their vehicles as of 10:00 am today. Smoke from a controlled burn along with heavy fog is the cause of the accident. The scene is over 14 miles long. A Polk County Deputy was struck while trying to help victims. He continued to help people in spite of his own injuries. He saw people screaming burning in their own vehicles and could not help them. Stated he could not see his hand in front of his face, the smoke and fog was so thick.
