Shane Cameron's dreams of a heavyweight title fight subsided in a bloodbath in Auckland tonight as a former sparring partner put the New Zealand No.1's professional boxing career in doubt by effecting a stunning last round stoppage.Las Vegas-based American Friday Ahunanya floored a near blinded Cameron twice in the 12th round of a bludgeoning bout at the Sky City Convention Centre to win the fight by a technical knock out.Cameron's quest for a top-10 ranking with the International Boxing Federation (IBF) -- and plans for a lucrative bout in the United States -- have been placed in jeopardy by Ahunanya, who had enough stamina in reserve to capitalise on gashes above both of the New Zealander's eyes.Barely able to see from the eighth of 12 scheduled rounds, , Cameron was still possibly ahead on points until Ahunanya unleashed the killer blows -- a left hook and jolting right hand to the jaw -- with less than two minutes remaining.The fight was inevitably stopped after Cameron twice took a standing eight count -- a dismal end to what was forecast as his 20th consecutive professional victory.Instead he left the ring deflated with blood pouring from his face and mouth as an unmarked Ahunanya displayed the spoils of victory -- the WBA Pan-Asian, WBA North American and WBO Asia-Pacific titles.
