Dir en grey's interview at Tavastia, Helsinki, 4.11.2007 with Die and Toshiya.English sub titels:Q: How would you describe your music?Die: It's hard to describe our music with words, but the music comes from what comes from inside. So that you could properly discover the music, we'd like you to buy the CD.Q: Why did you decide to use English in your lyrics?Toshiya: We didn't use English in the beginning. Our singer uses sometimes English in his lyrics if the intonation or a specific word suits the song. So there is no deep meaning for the using of English.Q: How do you spend your leisure time?Die: Of course all of our time lapses mostly on the road. On our leisure time we all have different relaxation customs, for example watching DVDs or to celebrate with friends.Q: Do you most preferably appear on big arenas or on small clubs?Toshiya: It doesn't depend on the capacity and the amount of people, it doesn't matter if the gig place is big or small. Al tough there would only be one person in the audience, it would be sufficient. Of course it's great to play in a big place to thousands of people who want to hear our music. It doesn't matter if there are one thousand or one people, it only matters that there are someone that wants to listen and I'm very thankful of that. Q: From where did you get the inspiration to being to play music?Die: When we started, we all admired a band that used a lot of make-up, they had starling clothes and big hair. Back then we maybe thougt the band as our idol but in the long run we received into Dir en grey, that we are now. Q: You have performed in Europe already some years ago, from where did the ida start?Toshiya: Everything is caused by the right timing, so in America as in Europe. We were interested in working with the concerned agents, that's why we decided to leave outside Asia. Q: Were you surprised that you already had years ago fans in Europe and America?Die: It was a shock. When we left for the first time to America and Europe and our CDs wasn't in the stores, so there yet was audience on our concerts. And it was verymysterious because we didn't have any clue of how the people had heard of us, we are very thankful of that.
