Theresa is startled to find Ethan waiting for her outside the cabin where little Ethan is recuperating. Theresa lies that she left him because the moment together was too perfect and she feared it would be ruined. He promises they will have a future together. Rebecca warns Gwen that Theresa has won Ethan back into her life. She decides to take Gwen up to the cabin. There, Rebecca slips inside and blasts Pilar for failing to keep Theresa and Ethan apart. When Pilar claims true love will win out, Rebecca attacks her. Gwen pleads with Ethan to come back to her and Jonathan but he refuses. Angry, Gwen claims Theresa is seeing another man. Just then, they hear a crash from inside the cabin. Upset that Luis is nowhere to be found to ring in the new year with her, Fancy calls the Crane compound and learns that he's at Sheridan's cottage. Marty assures Luis that he's fine but a scheming Sheridan lies that Marty was in a panic upon learning that Luis had left. Luis falls for the lie and assures her that she did the right thing. Claiming Fancy will understand, Sheridan asks Luis to stay with them as a family for Marty's sake until he's more trustworthy. After Marty goes to bed, Luis announces he's leaving again. Sheridan starts to cry so Luis sits with her and holds her. Fancy spots them embracing and fumes. When Esme tries to delay the inevitable, Alistair angrily announces that he knows about the men who have died while having sex with her. He blasts her for hoping the same would happen to him. Esme denies that she would do such a thing but Alistair grabs her and throws her to the floor where she hits her head and passes out. Alistair climbs on top of her but the mystery killer throws a knife into his back. As he falls over, Alistair spots the killer and mutters "you."
