Beat Box Challenge... at churcCome, Lord Jesus
In 1990, Martin Tankleff was convicted in a Suffolk County, NY courtroom of the brutal murders of his adoptive parents Arlene and Seymour Tankleff when he was just 17 years old. After a lengthy trial before Countgy Judge Alfred Tisch, and eight days of jury deliberfations, he was found guilty of both murder charges and sentenced to two consecutive terms of 25 years to life, despite the fact that he has professed his innocence from the very day that he was so unjustly arrested. Marty spent 17 years in a maximum security New York state correctional facility, but finally after all these years a NY appellate court unanimously reversed the convictions after they were convinced that Marty's legal team had produced sufficient evidence that others were guilty of this crime to convince a jury to acquit. Shortly, all the charges against him will be dismissed and his %$1,000,000 bail will be returned. After all these years, he will truly be a free man.In 1998, we produced a 56 minute documentary with a crew from the UK entitled "A Question of Guilt," so certain that Marty was an innocent man who had been unjustly convicted. But for one film festival in Wilmington, NC in 2000, the documentary has not had a public airing despite the factg that it contains a reenactment of the crime with professional actors which closely resembles how the crime was probably committed by others. It also features the lead detective in the case being questioned in a real courtroom jury box, being questioned by me, a former NY County Judge in Suffolk County. His words: "I have never arrested an innocent person...." It also features the original Suffolk County prosecutor telling why the police and he failed to pursue an investigation of Seymour Tankleff's business partner, the self proclaimed "Bagel King of Long Island," who staged his own disappearance almost immediately after the murders, and who owed a good deal of money to Seymour which was in dispute. This is the trailer for the documentary which will become available in February. (See www.legaleagleproductions.com/Documentar ies)
