This fugue has an exceptionally beautiful and expressive (almost vocal) theme; I find it strange that it was written originally for harpsichord (which to me seems a pretty non-vocal type of instrument). It'd be nice to hear this played on the harpsichord.... anyone got a spare?? ;)I don't think Grand Fugues are very well known, but they stand up well, I think, against Bach's. (I've always found it easier to relate to Handel than Bach, actually.) My rendition is not perfect, but the best I am likely to be able to do until my next vacation period.
