Please excuse the quality as I recorded it on my phone. I'll get some better quality ones up soon. Ive been asked a few times what pedal technique I use. Its a sort of sliding motion using the sweet spot to get enough bounce for the second note when playing doubles. The sweet spot is (usually) located 1-2 inches from the top of the pedal and it seems to bounce back quicker when playing in that area. I do not use my heel but rather make the first note on the sweet spot and the second note at the top of the pedal board. Both notes are made using the ball of my foot using my ankle. Never been a fan of double pedals so I developed this way of playing fast bass drum stuff. If someone can tell me what this technique is called, whether Im doing it correctly or if I just made it up I would be most appreciative. Any info you have is helpful to me.
