George W Bush's best press conference ever
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: Ol' Georgie dances his Puppet Media to amuse and entertain the public. He makes them dance their merry dance, they pretend to ask some questions and he pretends to answer. At the end someone asks "I'm in a rush, but i don't need to know it all. Would someone mind summing that up for me in about 6 words or one emotion?"......"There's no time for that" they say, "let me just skip straight to what you should be thinking..."Somebody asked me recently on Facebook, in respone to this video, to keep things "simple, not polite." I guess that's how people want their news these days - simple, not polite."How fortunate for leaders that men do not think" - Adolf Hitler***If you like this one, please subscribe, as i will hopefully have more on a similar theme up soon (time permitting)***UPDATE: Open your eyes people! I'm getting tired of all the people who are saying "oh, i dont like Bush, but why take what he says out of context, blah blah blah..."I'd like to make two points...Firstly, to the people who think it's wrong to take snippets of what he says, change the order and put graphics over it to make it look like he's saying something particular... That is what every news program does ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hbuph... ). Some people have said it would have been better to simply have uploaded the whole speech. I couldn't agree with the sentiment more - there is a lot to be gained from watching the whole speech (something i actually did by the way) because it gives you a broad view of everything the president says and helps you understand his position on things. He's a terrible orator and he rambles on and avoids questions and misses points and sometime tells outright lies. How many of you actually watched the original press conference though??????? It's out there - take the time for yourselves! find out! How many of you, in comparison, took your view of the president from the two minutes of coverage on that night's news where they said "the president spoke about the evil of al qaeda and the need to defend america today" (insert 30 second snippet...)Secondly, people don't seem to understand this for what it is. Video is a form of art and art can often have a message. Mine is threefold. 1. Bush is a hypocrite. All the things he said in the video were in reference to Iraq, Saddam and Al Qaeda. But i felt (key point there - *I* felt... This video is MY take on things don't forget) they all applied to his oppressive, unfriendly, warmongering, fear spreading regime. Secondly - the media is still caught in a post 9/11 sate where it is unthinkable to openly question the president's abuse of powers. Also, they are corporate companies don't forget, so can't take positions that will turn off viewers and lose ad revenue, or alienate themselves from money-spinning interviews with Bush or Cheney... So they just fall in line. Report the talking points (See Stephen Colbert's speech to the WHCA "Make, announce, type...")This isn't intended to be insulting to the people, or (one could argue) even the president... If he were to be honest and admit he made mistakes, we could learn from them (for example, as Mike Gravel suggests, a thorough, public 9/11 investigation, with immunity from prosecution, other than for lying to the investigation. Not a private, off the record 2 hour team meeting...).And the people have the smarts to see through all the shit. The Bill Hicks quotes are there for a very good reason. "Don't get caught up in the hype" (for example over whether the MoveOn ad is offensive - it is a great tactic to switch attention away from the war). Don't listen to the guys on CNN, Fox, or MSNBC bloviating and opinionating... "tale a deep breath" and watch the events for yourself, without listening to people who tell you what to think. My video is no different in this regard, it's my opinion, not a fact. And, for Christ's Sake, "You're right, not those fuckers who want tell you how to think. YOU"RE FUCKING RIGHT!"Turn off your TV.(addendum) By the way, if you're wondering how to fix it... Don't trust the politicians, working in league with the military industrial complex to solve anything. Get real power to the people at http://www.ni4d.us/ or support Mike Gravel in 08.
