Frampton returned from touring in 1976 to record this album. Stevie Wonder is also featured.Under pressure to deliver a studio follow up, Frampton came up with the album I'm in You, which was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York, where Frampton's Camel was recorded four years ago, with Frampton demanding body guards to protect him from overzealous fans, which were going to distrube the recordings. Seven million albums later, he had become a solid lightweight rocker who had set sales records and who would soon find himself by welcoming Stevie Wonder, Richie Hayward, and Mick Jagger into the studio for his followup album. Frampton's image is distinctively tied into the sedate Seventies; he is the Farrah Fawcett and Suzanne Somers of rock. The music on I'm in You flows with the same easy-listening ease as the live set. I'm in You rose to the #2 slot on the Billboard album charts, whose keyboard driven, dominated by the sound of the Baldwin Piano, ARP String Synthesizer-generated string section, Moog synthesizer, and Gibson Les Paul, played by Frampton, title number became his most successful single yet, seeing the album and same-titled single reach platinum and #2 respectively, I'm in You was successful on its own terms, and had Frampton recorded it after the live album, it would probably be very fondly looked back on.Track listing:1.
