Talk Radio Show - Casino/Dopeshttp://www.casinodopes.com/ Starting this Monday 08-20-07 (CasinoDopes.com) the first internet talk radio call in show addressing the pros and cons of casino gambling hosted by Bill Kearney will air Monday to Friday - 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM - PST and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - EST. We would like to hear from people whose life has been dramatically changed in a negative way after they or a loved one, friend, employee or employer became a compulsive casino gambler. We also would like to hear from people who have worked or still work in the gaming industry to reveal their stories and we also welcome those he see benefit with the proliferation of casinos.Like most of us who live in Philadelphia, I knew casinos were going to be a go when Gov. Rendell was our mayor, and some of us see great opportunity with casino gambling in our state, from construction of our gambling parlors, vendors servicing them, job opportunities and tax revenues from the "Three Billion Dollars" that's projected Pennsylvanians will "lose" filling our state coffers. Up front, sounds like a winner, but being an ex-compulsive casino gambler who has seen first-hand the impact on families when loved ones get in bed with this industry, the social and economic costs from the losers will outweigh any, if any, of those great opportunities. And as far as I'm concerned what has been addressed so far, things like property tax relief, locations, design of gaming facilities, traffic congestions, licensing gaming operators, and the shady land deals that have surfaced and the ones to come are obstacles that would have arisen if Disney Worlds were opening throughout our state. But casinos are a form of entertainment that brings a hindrance that you won't find in an amusement park and one that has to be addressed before the breeding starts. Now if you still don't understand that casinos operate with no consumer protection then here's a comparison. Let's say its amusement parks instead of casinos opening throughout our state and in order for them to fill these parks and pay the same tax revenues as our casinos (54%) their going to abolish all safety provisions. That's right, no seat belts, no helmets, no cages, and to minimize the fear factor they will serve free booze 24/7. Wagering will be similar to the horse tracks, in other words, it won't be who came in first; it will be who stayed in. And Comps can be inherited in the case of a fatality. The ATMs will be available, along with check cashing, and you can obtain credit from future life insurance policies. And to insure their patrons that they're not in business to destroy individuals and families they will establish provisions and safeguards similar to those in the gaming industry. Things like signs throughout the amusement parks with a 1-800-Mor-onic get help number, and they'll provide a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week hotline to counsel those who can't control their suicidal desires. They will publicize treatment options, and training for employees staffing the amusement parks to recognize Daredevil like behavior. There will also be a self-exclusion list for those addictive riders, and there will be pamphlets and posters to educate about this phenomenon known as Kamikaze addiction. And being the state will be paid handsomely for hosting this form of entertainment, they will put aside millions of dollars for treatment and to compensate those who become crippled and families whose loved ones went overboard, (no pun intended) Now as ridicules as this comparison sounds it's not that far off.Personally I don't get how our government officials could let an industry operate with no consumer protection, and I can't imagine that our forefathers would have ever legalized an industry that preys on the weakness of its citizens in order to support education, tax relief, or any another good cause, this is not "Just nor Humane." But what do I know, I'm just a former Atlantic City casino gambling degenerate trying to stop others from becoming what I once was.
