Description of "The Joy of Sewing with Roflo L"
Frustration with bobbins!Roflo Lauren and Désirée (Brother LS-1217 machine) alter a v-neck Sisley sweater (100% wool) with his sewing machine. The sweater was tapered from the chest down as it was a bit loose in that area. The sweater was carefully hand washed after (which I forgot to record!). My method for washing wool/cashmere/anything delicate involves the following:-Soak in Woolite for 15 minutes (large sink, cold water; use warm water if you feel the item is really dirty and will not fade -- this sweater is basically new and is a bold colour, so I did not want it to fade).-Gently rinse under running water at a low pressure - I do not allow the stream to hit the item, I sort of splash it on.-Soak in Downy® Simple Pleasures Vanilla & Lavender softener (cold water)-Wrapped in a towel, I use the spin mode (hand wash mode) to rid of any excess water-For extra softness, I put the sweater in the dryer, set on the knit casual mode for 5 minutes, and then lay flat to dry completely Generally, when dealing with items made of wool or cashmere, or any sort of natural fiber of the kind, it is best to use the lowest machine settings ONLY if you have a machine with many options that you feel is delicate enough to not destroy your items. If not, do everything by hand.Production number sew003.
