Resident Evil 4 Main Game PartPrivilege (Set Me Free) with I
Well, here it is, the long anticipated 10th and HARDEST segment in this run. After weeks of practicing, I finally started doing real attempts today and after about 50 attempts, I got this one, which is really good. I did some nasty mistakes that cost me up to 5 seconds total, but it's still more than a minute faster than the stairs. So, what's so hard about this segment? First of all, the elevator. In order to save as much time as possible, you need the best possible elevator outcome. You can run into a Shinra employee on some of the floors instead of having to fight a battle and that obviously saves time. I think there are four floors where you can run into him and the best possible outcome is to run into him three times and fight one battle. That outcome is up to 2:30 faster than the stairs, but unfortunately, the odds of that happening are like 1/1800.I'm not restarting until that happens, so I have to settle for something more likely. My goal was two employees and two battles, which is already pretty damn rare, but in this attempt, I got a really good three battle outcome. The battles were with enemies that are easy to defeat quickly and two of the battles only had one enemy. When I reached the 59th floor, I was at least 1:10 ahead of the time I would have gotten if I took the stairs. On the 59th floor, you have to fight a group of three Mighty Grunts and in order to save time here, you want them to attack as few times as possible. Normally, you would at least get attacked three times, but thanks to the "Wait trick", it's possible to reduce it to two and even one if you're lucky. I got two, which is fine. For details on how the Wait trick works, see section 1.4 in my FAQ.The main reason why this segment is so hard is because of the little minigame on floor 60. You have to sneak past the guards without them seeing you. While that might not be too hard a task in a regular playtrhough, it is hard when you just had a good elevator outcome after 50+ restarts. Words can't describe how nervous I was. I decided to play this safe and for that, I had to sacrifice a few seconds, waiting for the guards on the right side to move once. The Elemental Materia is needed, so the mayor's password must be guessed on the first try. Thankfully, BrutalAl figured out a way to easily find out what the password is. He mapped every shelf for every password and found out that one out of the 24 shelves had a unique file for every password. In other words, you can just check that particular shelf and you will know what the password is.
