French Gypsy rapper Syntax cut his song "Gens du Voyage" for his CD of the same name. On the recording, he plays the guitar sample from the old Russian Gypsy song "Les Deux Guitares," but in the video here it's Django's grandson, David Reinhardt, jamming along. This rap tune is a cool mix of Gypsy jazz, flamenco, Hungarian Romany music, and modern-day rap. The song's a demand for equal rights for Gypsies in France, and Syntax is part Django, part Bob Marley. As he raps at the end, "Le meilleur chemin est celui que l'on choisit..."
