I firmly believe that Badfinger should be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame for several reasons. Their music is credited with beginning the modern form of a musical type, or genre, called "power-pop." Throughout the years many band have utilized power-pop to create some of the greatest songs in rock history. Come And Get is currently being used in a major worldwide advertisment camapin for Saturn cars. Day After Day went #1 in America and was also a certified gold record. Clearly, Peter Ham and Tommy Evans could have been the next Lennon/McCartney, if not for their untimely deaths. This incredable duo penned the great rock ballet Without You, which Harry Nelson took to number-one in the 70s. This was duplicated when Mariah Carry recently achieved a #1 hit with the same song. This seems to indicate that this respected material has the ability to translate across generations and demogrphics. Badfinger themselves won a grammy for the song. This band seemed destined for, as well as, perfectly capable of, continued greatness.
