Valentine Song
This is a song put to the poem "A Red Red Rose" by Robert Burns. I first heard it sung by Carly Simon and her sister Lucy on a children's album they did in the 1960'sor early 70's. The lyrics are as follows:O, my Love is like a red, red rose,That's newly sprung in June.O, my Love is like a melodyThat's sweetly played in tune.As fair as thou, my bonnie lass,So deep in love am I;And I will love thee still, my dear,Till all the seas gang dry.Till all the seas gang dry, my dear,And the rocks melt with the sun:I will love thee till, my dear,While the sands of life shall run:And fare thee well, my only love! And fare thee well, a while! And I will come again, my love,Tho' it were ten thousand miles.Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
