Speech Written, Performed, and Edited by Comrade Sam AronsonFilmed by Ryan YatesTranscript of Speech:Comrades! We are daily getting closer to the time of revolutionary upheaval. The combination of the destruction of the internal environmental conditions of the earth, and the constantly growing demand for recourses, both caused by capitalism, will soon lead to a new society. To understand how capitalism can be overthrown, we must first understand how it arose. To understand how it arose, we must first understand the process of development of history, told through historical materialism, a theory first created by Karl Marx. The essence of historical materialism is the fact that all human ideologies are based entirely around the relations of production. {Middle of Speech Skipped To Avoid Character Limit} The democracy created by the bourgeois revolutions is exactly what the democracy of ancient Athens was; a democracy only of the ruling class. there are always subtle mechanisms that the capitalists use to control the parliaments. This was at first accomplished by allowing for delegates to be able to override the popular vote, and by completely excluding those without property, as well as entire genders and races. Today, the bourgeois class primarily controls the state through lobbying. Throughout most of the development of capitalism, the conditions of the working proletarian class have been terrible, characterized by 14 hour work days and extreme poverty. Then, during the mid 1900s, many developed capitalist nations, in the face of the growing organization of workers and fear of revolution, created social programs to better the conditions of the proletariat. These social democratic reforms are responsible for the wealth of what many mistakenly view as created by capitalism. The great majority of the world today still lives in impoverished conditions. Modern day wars are driven completely by the capitalists and are completely in the interests of the capitalists. From the recent Iraq war, which was an effort to gain control of oil, to World War 1, where the capitalist class of each country were battling for control of markets. War is built into capitalism, just as it was built into feudalism. The next stage of society, Socialism, requires a proletarian revolution. Socialism begins the transition to classless society, beginning with workers' democratic control over the means of production, and the state reduced to a mere administrative level. All government officials are paid the same wages as average workers, and at the local level direct communal democracy exists. However, we must learn from past revolutions that the development of a "new class" of bureaucrats can take place if there is not international revolutionary cooperation. This "new class" controls the means of production and separates it from the hands of the workers, creating a new form of class based society. Stalin was the first to do this, turning a workers' state into a totalitarian dictatorship. Under this bureaucratic regime, the new class's form of property is political control. Thus, they have many propaganda marches and parades, despite the fact that this lowers material productivity. As long as we keep in mind the dangers of the new class forming, we can overcome the threat of it and reach socialism by keeping the workers in control of the factories. Eventually, people will develop a culture of mutual cooperation, and they will lose the influence of predatory, selfish capitalism.. No one know how long this will take, but once it is reached, their will no longer be a need for a state, and society will become classless. Individual nations will dissolve into one united human race. Direct democracy will govern everything. Money will no longer be needed, as recourses will be free to take. People will finally operate under the slogan "from each according to their abilities and to each according to their needs". Comrades, Communism can and will be reached. As the class struggle nears it's final end, the workers of all nations will have no choice but to unite under a revolutionary leadership if the class war is to be won. A new society is currently being born within the shell of the old, a new society in which the exploitation of man by man will forever be abolished. It is our task to smash the old society to make room for the new. Workers of all lands, UNITE!
