Rodger and I just returned from our "remarriage" on Anna Maria. I am happy to let you know that it was all we envisioned in celebrating our 25th year of being together. We experienced so many blessings...from our quaint beachside cottage to the perfect weather and gorgeous sunset to the circle of dear family that surrounded us. On the day of the ceremony it rained all day and ...just as we knew it would...one hour before sunset the clouds parted and our beautiful sunset appeared. I can't express the beauty of the evening! I hope that this video will help!I wanted to include a few words for those of you that do not know the significance of us being on Anna Maria Island for this event. When I was a little girl, my father (a school teacher) would take our family to spend his summer vacations on this small Gulf Coast Island just south of Tampa. I can easily say it was the happiest time of my life. We often stayed in a small wood beachfront cottage, just steps from the waters edge. At night I slept on the screened front porch and fell asleep to the sound of the wind and waves... I like to remember who I was then...so innocent and open, unaware of and untouched by the pain and struggles that lie in my path... I also like to think that even if I had known... I wouldn't have been as frightened and worried less, if I had known then...that Rodger was my destiny.As I stood on that beach last Saturday night at sunset on the arm of my most beloved, I was celebrating not only the love for my most darling companion but also the fact that I had come full circle...like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the sweet girl of my youth had overcome all that life had thrown her way and now stood on the very spot where she began her journey...almost 50 years ago and more than just survived. It was significant for me that she stood in the light of a most gorgeous sunset, on the same precious sand of her childhood, renewed and complete...thankful for the most magnificent soul at her side... I can never wish for any of you a greater gift, than to have a Rodger in your life... someone who sees you for who you are and loves you unconditionally no matter how badly you act out and rage against the world. Whose calm strength is a balm that restores your faith and spirit to carry on and ultimately makes you a better person...day after day after day...In closing I want to let you know that just after the ceremony (where we said our vows to each other again) we ran into the water and as we spoke the name of each of you that we love so dearly...we tossed a flower in the waves to thank the Great Spirit that created us and everything...for your presence in our life together...Continue to love yourselves and others,
